Hello and Welcome to the Parent's Page!

Here you will find information on how things work in my classroom. Scroll down to see our classroom expectations, homework policies, upcoming events/field trips, and how you can contact me!

My Contact Information:

The best and quickest way to contact me is through email. I check my email before and after school and occasionally during lunch time. My email address is: mgish@sbsdk12.org

You can also send a note with your child in the morning! Just put it into their daily, red assignment book, and I will get it when they turn their homework in.

HOMEWORK POLICIES:
  • Homework will be assigned Monday through Thursday.
  • Homework is given as a review of the work covered in class, or to prepare for an upcoming test. It is not given as punishment.
  • Homework has value and is given to help your child succeed in class. We feel it also helps teach responsibility and develops positive, long lasting study habits.
  • Homework will vary in length, but children should be spending on average 45 minutes to 1 hour a night on it. Contact me if your child is spending an exceptional amount of time on homework on a daily basis. We can then work on a solution together.

  • Students are expected to do their best, complete homework neatly, and on time.

  • Homework may be graded.If the assignment is not handed in on time, the student will call home to let you know that it is missing/incomplete. The student is expected to turn in the assignment the next day. If homework continue to be a problem, the student will be in danger of staying at school while we go on the next field trip.

  • Their assignments will be written in their agendas each day. It is the student's responsibility to make sure they bring home the correct materials to complete their assignments.

--> PARENT RESPONSIBILITY! (Very Important)
  • Find a quiet place for your child to study
  • Check the agenda and sign it daily
  • Encourage your child to show you his/her completed homework
  • Help your child study for tests
